Director of Facilities and Operations

Originally joining FGCU Athletics as Event Manager in May of 2011, Michael was promoted to the Director of Facilities and Operations in September of 2012.

As the Director of Facilities and Operations, Michael oversees all game operations, special events, Athletic facilities and grounds, team equipment, and outdoor concessions. Additionally, Michael is responsible for the facility scheduling, management of capital and facility improvement projects, and coordination of services and maintenance. Miller currently manages four full time positions, and upwards of 50 event staff, equipment and volunteer employees.

Prior to coming to Florida Gulf Coast University, Michael spent five years at the University of Florida where he graduated with Bachelors in Sport Management in 2008 and a Masters in Sport Management in 2010. During his time at the University of Florida, Michael served in a variety of roles with the University of Florida's Athletic Association (UAA).

Michael began as a student assistant with UAA's Sports Information department. His position with Sports Info quickly led to a full time position with the Florida Gator Baseball program as a manager in 2006, which after a year, he was promoted to the Head Manager position. As the head manager of the Gator baseball team, Michael managed six other student managers in the operational support of the team with a wide range of responsibilities from equipment management to game operations to marketing support to NCAA Regional and Super Regional coordination.

While with the baseball program, Michael continued to build his experience in other areas through a series of semester long internships. During the fall of 2007, Michael served as a Marketing and Promotions Intern. The following fall, Michael completed his Bachelor's degree with an internship with Facilities and Operations.

In 2010, Michael left his post the Baseball team's head manager to finish his Master's degree with a full time internship with IMG College's Gator Sports Marketing property, where he was involved with the fulfillment of multimedia contracts totaling over $10 million.
