Facilities & Operations
Ricky Ramirez joined FGCU Athletics as the Assistant Director of Facilities and Operations in July of 2014.
Ramirez is a graduate of Florida International University where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology in 2011. He went on to earn his Master’s in Sports Administration from St. Thomas University in 2013. During his undergraduate years, Ramirez gained valuable experience working for Tournament of Champions Inc., where he assisted in coordinating the logistics for multiple events, including the annual Dade vs. Broward County High School All-Star Football game and the MLK Basketball Tournament.
In 2012, Ramirez was named the Game Operations Coordinator at FIU. In that role he served as the liaison for all visiting teams and oversaw game operations for the Volleyball, Men’s Soccer and Sand Volleyball programs. Ramirez also served as the Tournament Director for the inaugural 2013 FIU Surf and Turf Sand Volleyball Tournament and carried those responsibilities over for the 2014 event. Ramirez was promoted to Assistant Director of Facilities and Operations at FIU in 2013. His responsibilities included operating the master calendar for the athletic department, assisting in the management of the athletic facilities and hosting a multitude of external events.
In his current role, Ramirez oversees the day-to-day equipment and game operations for Baseball, Men's Soccer, Volleyball and Sand Volleyball. Additionally, he is responsible for the facility management of Swanson Stadium and the FGCU Soccer Stadium.
A native of Miami, Fla., Ramirez currently resides in Fort Myers.
