Associate AD/Business Ops
Colleen Sorem is in her third year at Florida Gulf Coast as the Assistant Athletic Director for Business Operations. Sorem also serves as the sport supervisor for men’s soccer and softball while overseeing the ticket office operations.
Sorem oversees all aspects of the athletic department’s business operations, including maintaining and managing the operational budget, as well as the day-to-day operations. Around campus, Sorem also serves as the liaison to the Office of the Controller, Procurement Services, Budget Office and the Bursar’s Office.
Prior to FGCU, Sorem was the Assistant Athletic Director for Business Operations at UMass Lowell where she was responsible for all aspects of the department’s budget. Sorem worked at Lowell for six years from 2002-08. She began as the Coordinator of Intramurals and worked there until 2004 until she was named Events & Business Operations Manager of the athletic department. In 2007, she was promoted to Assistant Athletic Director for Business Operations.
Sorem graduated from James Madison in 2000 with a B.S. degree, majoring in Kinesiology with a minor in business. She earned a Masters of Arts in education degree from the University of Alabama in 2002.
