Denise Anderson Da Silveira joined FGCU Athletics as the Director of Corporate Sales and Marketing in November, 2009. Her position is a newly designed role that combines corporate sponsor sales with the marketing of the 14 FGCU Division I programs.

"We are excited to have Denise join our administrative team," said Director of Athletics Ken Kavanagh upon her hiring. "A very personable individual, she brings to FGCU a tremendous wealth of experience and knowledge of the SW Florida community. In particular, we look forward to her spearheading the expansion of our corporate partnerships and marketing initiatives in our continued pursuit of additional resources and in building the best home venue atmospheres possible for our teams."

Da Silveira, who has been a business sales and marketing executive in the Southwest Florida since 1997, has built a reputation of taking on new projects and seeing them through to completion. Most recently, Da Silveira was the executive project manager at GATES Inc. and responsible for the Atrium, a boutique 192 unit condominium project in Aventura, Florida, as well as, responsible for the sales and leasing oversight of commercial projects in both Collier and Lee Counties. During the 2008 to 2009 time period, Da Silveira closed 30 million dollars in real estate. She is a licensed real estate broker and has served on the board of directors for NAIOP of Southwest Florida.

Moving to Southwest after four years in Guatemala City, Guatemala, Da Silveira served as the Board President of the Tomorrow Fund of Guatemala. Duarte, her husband, was an executive for PepsiCo International there. Da Silveira’s first post in the Southwest Florida community was as the Director of Business Development for a Collier County architecture and interior design firm. There she was responsible for securing new clients, as well as, the firm’s PR and marketing plans.

Da Silveira began her career after graduating from DePauw (IN) University with a BA in English literature and minor in business administration. Her first position was in print advertising, and she has worked for several well know print media companies including The Los Angeles Times, Harte-Hanks Communications, and The St. Petersburg Times.

Also active in civic organizations, Da Silveira serves on the Bishop’s Foundation Board for the Diocese of Venice as well as volunteering at St. Ann Catholic Church in Naples; where she attends services with her family. She has previously donated her time as well as consulted professionally for various soccer organizations both local and nationwide, including Seacrest Country Day School in Naples.

She played collegiate Division III softball on the inaugural team at DePauw University in 1981. She is an Indiana native and married her college sweetheart, Duarte M. Da Silveira, who played basketball at DePauw. The couple has three children; Lauren Marie Da Silveira, a senior at DePauw University; Sophia Morgan Da Silveira, a senior at Barron Collier High School; and Alexander J. Da Silveira, an eighth grader at Seacrest Country Day School.
