Director of Corporate Sales
Bringing more than 10 years of hands-on experience in the sports marketing and partnership industry, Scott Brewster was introduced as the Director of Corporate Sales for FGCU’s Athletics Department by Athletic Director Ken Kavanagh on June 27, 2014.
Brewster, who is the first person in FGCU’s young history whose sole responsibility is focused on corporate sales, officially began his duties Monday, June 30.
Since 2012, Brewster has fostered relationships throughout the state and nationally by serving as a senior account executive for Gator IMG Sports Marketing. His primary responsibility has been prospecting new businesses and potential partners for the University of Florida, in addition to cultivating those relationships with current sponsors. While working for the Gators, Brewster developed, pitched and closed sponsorship packages designed to meet clients’ objectives and then then coordinated with vendors and appropriate university personnel to ensure all contract fulfillment was executed within the scope of the project and on time.
Prior to his time at IMG, Brewster spent two years with the Charlotte Checkers. During his first year with the American Hockey League team, he served as the director of corporate services before being elevated to the director of corporate partnerships for the 2011-12 season. In that role, Brewster generated new corporate partnerships while retaining current partners, in addition to generating new group and full-season ticket packages. As the director of corporate services, Brewster developed and sold integrated corporate partnership opportunities while managing and tracking inventory for 60-75 partners.
Brewster began his professional career as a partnership activation specialist with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2004. For six years, he managed 30-40 corporate partners and received 94 percent year-over-year renewals. Brewster served those clients as a business advisor, economist, advertising counselor and marketing and merchandise coordinator.
Brewster graduated from Bowling Green State University in 2004 with a Bachelors of Science in Sports Management and Marketing. He is currently pursuing a Professional Masters of Sports Administration from Ohio University.
