by Matt Collver FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Florida Gulf Coast University baseball team remains ranked in the top-25 in both major Division II national polls this week. FGCU (34-11, 26-9 South Region) stays at No. 15 in the National College Baseball Writers Association Poll but moves up five spots to No. 16 from last week in the American Baseball Coaches Association Poll, which is released by the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper. The Eagles stay at the third spot in the South Region rankings, still trailing Tampa and Catawba. Florida Southern and Tusculum hold the fourth and fifth seed respectively in the South Region. If the NCAA Regionals started today, FGCU would play No. 4 Florida Southern. The Eagles took two out of three from Florida Southern when they traveled to Fort Myers back in March of this year. FGCU hosted Lynn University for a three-game series this past weekend. The Eagles cruised over Lynn in the first two games only to get pounded 14-7 in the final match. Today, the Eagles baseball team has a doubleheader with Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. They will play another doubleheader tomorrow and return to Southwest Florida for a weekend series with Florida Tech starting on Saturday at 3:00 pm.
