TUSCALOOSA, AL – The Florida Gulf Coast University baseball team swept the doubleheader over Stillman today. The Eagles won the games 4-1 and 15-3 to take the weekend series three games to one. With today’s wins FGCU is now 37-12 on the year with five games remaining in the regular season.

Stillman jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the first inning. That lead would last until the top of the fourth when the Eagles’ bats came alive. The Eagles scored four runs off of a two RBI triple by freshman Josh Upchurch (Cape Coral, Fla.) and RBI from sophomore Shawn Griffin (Hollywood, Fla.) and junior Geoff Rottmayer (Clearwater, Fla.). The 4-1 lead would last as solid pitching by Kiley kept Stillman scoreless as the Eagles picked up the game one win.
