Forrest Martin Named Assistant Baseball Coach

FORT MYERS, Fla. – FGCU Baseball Head Coach Dave Tollett has named Forrest Martin as the Assistant Baseball Coach. Martin arrives at FGCU after spending the past two seasons as the Volunteer Assistant Coach at Oklahoma State University.

Martin’s primary responsibilities will include developing the Eagle pitchers as well as assisting head coach Dave Tollett with all aspects of the program.

"We are really excited to have Forrest join our staff," said head coach Dave Tollett. “He knows the game very well and brings a wealth of experience.”

Originally from Buffalo Valley, Okla., Martin played collegiately at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, where he earned All-American, All-Region and conference pitcher of the year honors.

Following his collegiate career, Martin signed a free agent contract with the Milwaukee Brewers in 2003 and played in the Brewers' organization for three years.

Martin graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology from Southwestern and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Applied Exercise Science.
