Former Eagle Coleman Placed on 2010 Triple-A All-Star Ballot

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Former FGCU baseball standout Casey Coleman has been placed on the ballot for the 2010 Triple-A All-Star Game held at Coca-Cola Park in Allentown, Pennsylvania, home of the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, on July 14 at 7:00 p.m. Fan balloting will be held from June 3-25 and will account for one-third of the total vote.

The 23rd annual Triple-A All-Star Game will be broadcast live from Allentown on Wednesday, July 14 on MLB Network as well as MiLB.TV on the World Wide Web.

In 2008, Coleman made his professional debut with Class A Short-Season Boise in Northwest League where he went 1-1 with a 4.05 ERA in seven games (four starts), recording 24 strikeouts and seven walks in 26.2 innings pitched. Coleman also made five starts for Class A Peoria in the Midwest League, going 2-2 with a 2.70 ERA and tallying 18 strikeouts with just four walks in 23.1 innings. Coleman was sent up to Class A Advanced Daytona in the Florida State League for his final start of 2008 season, and allowed a run on four hits and two walks, striking out two hitters in five innings for a 6-3 victory over Vero Beach.

During the 2009 season, Coleman spent the year with the Class AA Tennessee Smokes of the Southern League. In 27 starts, the righty finished the year with a 14-6 record and a 3.68 ERA, with 84 strikeouts and 58 walks in 149 innings pitched.

Competing for the Class AAA Iowa Cubs of the Pacific Coast League this season, Coleman has taken the mound for 10 starts and holds a 5-3 record with a 3.32 ERA. The former Eagle has sat down 34 batters and walked just 13 in 62.1 innings pitched.
