FGCU Baseball and Softball Season Tickets Available on Jan. 25

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Season tickets for the 2012 FGCU baseball and softball seasons will go on-sale at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 25th at the FGCU ticket office.

Tickets can be purchased in person at the Alico Arena ticket office or by phone at 239-590-7145. The FGCU ticket office is open from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Season tickets can also be purchased online at www.FGCUAthletics.com/tickets.

FGCU baseball season tickets are $89 for adults and $59 for youth and alumni. Season tickets for baseball are for all games played on campus at Swanson Stadium and does not include the Feb. 22 contest against No. 14 Miami at Hammond Stadium in Fort Myers, Fla. FGCU softball season tickets are $39 for adults and $29 for youth and alumni.

Faculty and students can attend all on-campus FGCU athletic events for free with valid Eagle ID.

The FGCU baseball team will host 29 games at Swanson Stadium, including seven contests against teams which reached NCAA Regionals last season. The 2012 home slate also includes Big Ten foe Michigan, the ACC’s Boston College and BIG EAST opponent Rutgers, in addition to five A-Sun Conference three-game series. The Eagles wrapped up the 2011 season with a 27-28 overall record, and narrowly missed their second straight A-Sun tournament after finishing seventh in the final standings with a 16-14 league mark. The Green and Blue welcome back 14 players from last season’s team and usher in 19 newcomers to this year’s squad.

In their first year of postseason eligibility, the FGCU softball team hosts two tournaments and 22 home contests at the FGCU Softball complex with two opponents that made NCAA regionals last season in Maryland and A-Sun champion Jacksonville. The Eagles return 11 players from last year’s squad that finished 31-25, including a 14-6 record in the Atlantic Sun. The Green and Blue also welcome 10 new faces to the diamond this season.

Both teams open the home portion of their schedules on Friday, Feb. 17. The softball team begins the FGCU Tournament Sponsored by La Quinta at the Airport against Tennessee-Martin at 6 p.m., before the baseball team opens a three-game homestand with Bethune-Cookman beginning at 6:30 p.m.
