Fort Myers – The FGCU baseball team improved to 12-6 today by defeating Minnesota Morris 10-2.

Freshman Justin Miller threw a complete game, striking out eight, as both runs scored were unearned. Miller improves to 2-0 on the season as he now has an impressive 1.83 ERA.

Offensively, the Eagles had four players with two-hit games. Chris Brown went 2-for-3 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI’s as he tripled to deep right-center as well.

Shortstop Rene Ruiz, who has been on fire lately, went 2-for-4 with a run scored. Ruiz is now hitting .349 on the season.

David Alexander had a solid performance today as he went 2-for-3 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI’s in the win. Alexander is now batting .375.

Catcher Billy Corrigan who has also turned it on lately, as he went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI’s, and just missed his second homer in as many games. Corrigan is now hitting .375.

Freshman Outfielder Cesar Florin made his first start of the season, and stepped up as he went 1-for-2 with 2 RBI’s and a run scored.

David Cox, who is leading the team in hits, doubles, and RBI’s went 1-for-3 with 2 runs scored and a RBI.

Mike Howard also had a nice game as he went 1-for-2 with 1 runs scored and a RBI. Howard leads the team in runs scored with 20.

The Eagles will play a double header tomorrow beginning at 4 p.m. against Robert Morris (IL) at Terry Park.
