FGCU Baseball falls to Florida Tech 4-3
MELBOURNE, Fla. – Starting pitcher Mike Succio pitched a complete-game four-hitter to lead Florida Tech past #24 Florida Gulf Coast University 4-3 in Division II South Region baseball action here Sunday afternoon.
Succio (2-0) struck out four and walked six for the Panthers (5-5), who split two-games with the Eagles (4-2) this weekend. Saturday’s late game was postponed due to darkness with the score tied at 5-5 after seven innings. No makeup date has been announced.
For the third straight game in the series, Florida Tech jumped out to an early lead. The Panthers went up 1-0 in the first when Jonathan Baksh singled to score Bubba DiFabio, who had doubled. Baksh blasted a two-run triple down the left field line in the fourth to put Florida Tech up 3-0. A sacrifice fly in the fifth gave the Panthers a 5-0.
