MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – Four pitchers combined for a three-hit shutout as Barry University blanked Florida Gulf Coast University in Division II south region baseball action at Feinbloom Field Tuesday night. Buccaneers starter Mike Tomoleoni (3-0) pitched shutout innings, allowing three hits and a walk, while striking out eight. Three relievers combined for hitless ball over the final three innings. Eagles starter Les Hassen (Port Charlotte, FL) took the loss, allowing nine hits and six runs – five earned – while striking out one. Hassen is now 0-2. Left fielder Ricky Sanchez went 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles and two RBI for Barry, while catcher Nick Corbeill was 3-for-3 with a double. Junior shortstop Jason Louwsma (Sanford, FL) had a double for FGCU. The Eagles (4-3) return home to face Saint Vincent of Pennsylvania on Tuesday, February 22 at 7 p.m.
