FGCU Baseball Back In National Poll

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Florida Gulf Coast University baseball team made a return to the NCAA Division II national poll released this week by the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper. After being absent from the poll for two weeks, FGCU is now No. 17. The Eagles (13-4) are coming off a weekend series with defending national champion and No. 20 Florida Southern that featured three one-run games. FGCU won 2-of-3 against the Mocs. Georgia College & State (16-2), which has handed FGCU one of its four losses, is ranked No. 1. Abilene Christian (17-2) is second, followed by Cal State Chico (17-4), West Virginia State (4-0), and Tampa (13-3). The poll is released weekly. The Eagles will face Albany State of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference today in a 1 p.m. doubleheader. FGCU will host Saginaw Valley State University on Friday night at 7 p.m. and Regis College of Colorado on Saturday at 1 p.m.
