FGCU Baseball In Top-15 in Both Polls

FORT MYERS, Fla. – With a current eight-game winning, the Florida Gulf Coast University baseball team continues to move up within the top-25 of both major Division II national polls this week. The Eagles are ranked No. 15 in the American Baseball Coaches Poll, released by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper, and No. 13 in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA). Last week, FGCU defeated then No. 7 Franklin Pierce College 14-1 to improve to 22-5 overall. The Eagles play seven games this week. On Monday they play at Clark Atlanta in a doubleheader followed by a twin bill at Morehouse College on Tuesday. FGCU will host No. 1 Tampa in a three-game series beginning with a single game on Friday night. Tampa is the top-ranked team in both polls. Seven teams from the South Region are represented in the ABCA poll while five teams are represented in the NCBWA poll.
