Following the conclusion of the 2010 Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament, 11 players from five teams were honored as a part of this year's A-Sun All-Tournament team. On that list was one FGCU Eagle. Mikel Alvarez was honored as a member of that elite list of players.

The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association released the first baseball poll of the 2010 season on Tuesday, and the Eagles received votes. This is the second preseason poll that FGCU has received votes this season, along with the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper poll, which ranked the Eagles 38th in the nation.

Florida Gulf Coast University baseball head coach Dave Tollett released the Eagles 2010 schedule on Friday and it includes 27 games at Swanson Stadium, 11 games against BCS Conference schools and 15 games against NCAA Regional teams, two of which advanced to the NCAA Super Regionals last season.

The FGCU baseball team is ranked 38th in the nation, according to the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper pre-season poll, released earlier today. Of the 40 teams ranked, the Eagles are the only representative from the Atlantic Sun conference.

The FGCU baseball program has announced plans for two winter baseball camps, their High School Showcase Camp (Dec. 5-6) and the Holiday Advanced Camp (Dec. 27-28). Two-time Atlantic Sun Coach of the Year Dave Tollett and his staff, who recently led the Eagles to their second consecutive A-Sun regular season title with a 36-18 overall record, will host the camps.

FGCU's Chris Sale was named the top ranked prospect in the Cape Cod League announced Baseball America. Baseball America ranked the top 30 prospects for the talent-rich Cape Cod League and the top 10 prospects in 17 other summer college leagues.

FGCU starter Chris Sale earned the BFC Outstanding Pitcher Award for the 2009 Cape Cod Baseball League Season. Sale finished the summer leading the Cape Cod League in strikeouts, and innings pitched.
