FORT MYERS, Fla. – FGCU starter Chris Sale was featured on Collegebaseball360.com. In his interview with Sean Stires, Sale talked about his experience last summer as well as the chance to play in the NCAA Tournament for the first time.
Sale racked up the hardware last season, collecting Atlantic Sun First team honors and was named the Cape Cod League’s Pitching MVP.
Last season at FGCU, Sale helped lead the Eagles to their second consecutive A-Sun regular season title, posting a team leading 2.72 ERA and 104 strikeouts.
Sale won the Cape's pitcher of the year award after leading the Cape with 57 strikeouts in 55 innings. He was also the East Division's MVP at the all-star game, where he needed just six pitches to work a perfect inning.
The 6-foot-6 left hander was also ranked the fifth top college prospect and the top prospect out of the Cape Cod League by Baseball America.
Sale return’s for his junior season as the FGCU baseball program will be eligible for post season play for the first time in school history.
