Baseball Ranked 38th in Perfect Game Crosschecker's Top 100 Teams

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Florida Gulf Coast University baseball team is ranked 38th in the Perfect Game Crosschecker initial Top-100 rankings out Feb. 10.

The Eagles are the only team from the Atlantic Sun Conference in the rankings. Perfect Game also lists its projected top player and pitcher for each team, as junior Chris Sale (Lakeland, Fla.) and classmate Bobby Greene (Cape Coral, Fla.) earned those honors, respectively.

FGCU has eight teams on its schedule that are in the top 100. The Eagles will face #6 Florida, #19 Miami, #21 Clemson, #29 Wichita State, #31 Oklahoma State, #32 USF, #57 Michigan, and #65 FIU on the 2010 slate.

Perfect Game also came out with its top-100 prospects for the 2010, 2011 and 2012 draft. Sale is listed as the 9th top prospect for the 2010 draft, while freshman Mike Reeves (Peterborough, ON, Canada) is listed as the 100th top prospect for the 2012 draft.

FGCU will open the 2010 season Friday, Feb. 19, hosting the Temple Owls. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m.
