Men's Hoops Looks to Rebound at Bradley

PEORIA, Ill., - The FGCU men’s basketball team prepares to take on Bradley in the second game of the 2007 South Padre Island Invitational. Bradley comes into the game with a 2-1 record while the Eagles are currently 1-2.

FGCU is in the early stages of a 13 day road trip that will see the Eagles play five games, four in the 2007 South Padre Island Invitational. The Eagles are also in the second game of a nine-game stretch away from Alico Arena. The Eagles lost the first game of the trip on Sunday, falling 62-49 to Iowa. Adam Liddell (Auburn, Ind.) had his best game of the year, scoring a season-high 15 points and adding a team-high six rebounds.

Bradley’s Carver Arena is one of the toughest places in the nation to play, the Braves have the seventh longest winning streak at home with 27 consecutive wins. The last loss was on December 18, 2002 to Central Michigan. Leading the Braves is senior point guard Daniel Ruffin who entered the season as the active career assists leader. Through three games, Ruffian has 25 assists. He is also averaging 16.0 points per contest. The Braves have won their last two games, including a 27 point win over Maryland-Eastern Shore, a potential opponent for FGCU in the South Padre Island Invitational.

Following Tuesday’s game, the Eagles will be back in action on Friday when they face Austin Peay in the third round of the 2007 South Padre Island Invitational.
