Campus Rec Night: Eagles Host NC Central
FORT MYERS, Fla. - After falling to the Jayhawks on the road in the 08-09 season opener on Wednesday night, the FGCU men's basketball team (0-1) returns home to host NC Central (0-2) Thursday night. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
Series Information: This is the first meeting between the two teams.

Join us for a great night of Division I basketball as the Eagles take on North Carolina Central.
Students involved in intramurals and club teams should get all your teammates together because this game is for you. Look forward to an exciting halftime activity sponsored by Vapiano. Also, get out your body paint and show your support for the Eagles to earn the Planet Smoothie Eagle Fan of the Game award.
There will also be announcements of this semester’s intramural champions. This will be a fun game, especially for the student crowd. Don’t miss the first ever Campus Rec. Game, Thursday November 20th at 7 pm. Bring all your friends and come cheer on your Eagles to victory!
Know Your Opponent: NC Central
Last Time Out vs. Kent State (Nov. 17; L, 83-42)
The season-opening victory for the Golden Flashes marks a school record 17 consecutive home wins, while the visiting Eagles fall to 0-2 in their second season of Division I competition.
Sophomore Vincent Davis was the lone Eagle to score in double figures with 12 points, adding nine rebounds and a steal in 38 minutes of action. Senior Philip Branch netted nine points on three 3-pointers, while junior transfer Stevy Worah-Ozimo contributed 10 rebounds, three points and three blocked shots.
Kent State had five players net double digits, topped by Al Fisher, the reigning MAC Player of the Year, with 15 points.
NCCU out-rebounded the Golden Flashes 40-34, including a 15-12 edge on the offensive glass. Kent State, however, amassed 18 assists, 17 steals and only seven turnovers.
The Eagles shot 30.6 percent (15-49) from the field, compared to 53.3 percent shooting (32-60) by Kent State.
