FORT MYERS, Fla. – FGCU men’s basketball head coach Dave Balza announced on Monday that assistant coach Nick Bennett has resigned to accept a coaching position at the University of Texas Pan-American (UTPA).

“Nick did a terrific job in his three seasons with our staff and program and I thank him for all of his hard work,” said Balza. “We wish Nick the best of luck in his new position and in the future.”

Bennett spent the last three years on the FGCU staff, joining the program for its first year in Division I and as a member of the Atlantic Sun Conference in 2007-08.

“I'd like to thank coach Balza for his trust and support of myself and giving me the opportunity to do what I love to do … coach basketball,” Bennett said.
