FGCU At WKU To Be Televised On Fox College Sports

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The final contest of the FGCU men’s basketball team’s three-game road trip at Western Kentucky on Monday night can be seen live on Fox College Sports beginning at 8 p.m. ET.

Fans in Southwest Florida can tune into Fox College Sports (FCS) on channel 617 for DirecTV subscribers. WKU radio crew of Randy Lee (Play-by-Play) and Hal Schmitt (Color Analyst) will have the call from E.A. Diddle Arena.

The Eagles and Hilltoppers (11-13) will meet for the first time in the final non-conference game for both teams this season. FGCU is closing out a three-game road trip, while Western Kentucky has won six of its last eight games and is playing its fifth straight contest at home.

With an average home attendance of over 4,000 fans this season, E.A. Diddle Arena will welcome in an FGCU club that has been led in scoring by freshman Christophe Varidel (Versoix, Switzerland/Worcester Academy) in eight of the last 12 games. Varidel’s 11.8 points per game this season have come on the strength of 63 three-pointers, a figure that is sixth in the nation among freshmen.

WKU is led by a terrific trio of seniors in the frontcourt that combine to average 44 points and 23.3 rebounds per game. The preseason Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year, Sergio Kerusch leads the way with 15.6 points and 8.1 boards per contest. The Hilltoppers were deemed the favorites in the Sun Belt’s East Division and have advanced to the Sun Belt Tournament semifinals in six straight seasons.
