MACON, Ga. - The 2012-13 Atlantic Sun men's basketball season is almost ready to begin and to preview the start of the year, the A-Sun is taking a look at the top-20 returning scorers. Tuesday included FGCU sophomore Bernard Thompson who checks in at No. 9 on the list.

A unanimous choice to the A-Sun All-Freshmen team in 2011-12, Thompson also garnered CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Freshmen All-American props. Thompson started 28 of 32 games in his first season with the Eagles, finishing second on the team in scoring at 11.5 points per game, a mark that was second among freshmen in the A-Sun. He finished in double figures a team-best 22 times, leading the team in scoring 10 times. A threat to score in the lane or from the perimeter, Thompson shot 44 percent from the floor, got the free throw 118 times and ranked 10th in the A-Sun in three-point percentage (.379).
