FGCU will look to carry over the momentum from its convincing win on Saturday against Jacksonville to Monday night when it hosts North Florida at Alico Arena. The Eagles jumped out to a 26-point halftime lead - their largest in D-1 history - en route to a 25-point victory that was their 10th of the season and put their home record at a perfect 8-0. With a win, FGCU can extend its home win streak to a program D-1 record nine games, while snapping a seven-game skid against UNF, who is coming off a 90-74 victory at Mercer. The Eagles can also improve to 3-1 in A-Sun play with a win, which would be their best start in six seasons in the league.

After winning the first six meetings between the two clubs, UNF has taken seven straight in the series. The 13 meetings are FGCU’s most against any opponent, as 11 of the games have been decided by 10 points or less and three have gone to overtime. The Ospreys’ current seven-game win streak has come by a combined 41 points.

The Ospreys enter Monday’s contest with a 7-9 record as they have won four of their last five games and are coming off a convincing 90-74 road win at Stetson on Saturday. Led by fourth-year head coach Matthew Driscoll, the Ospreys were tabbed to finish fourth in the Atlantic Sun Conference Preseason Coaches’ Poll. North Florida returns all five starters from a team that went 16-16 last season. North Florida attempts an average of 22.9 threes a game and it currently leads the A-Sun in three-point field goal percentage (.347) and three-point field goals made per game (7.9). In its last four games, UNF is averaging a torrid 82 points per contest and winning by 17.0 points.

North Florida is led by the leading scoring tandem in the A-Sun in senior guard Parker Smith and junior forward Travis Wallace. Together, the duo averages 31.3 points per game which accounts for 47 percent of UNF’s total offense. Smith leads the team in scoring with 16.1 points per game and is coming off a 33-point night at Stetson that saw one of the nation’s top shooters hit 9-of-10 from three. Smith is currently 11th all-time in the A-Sun for most three-point field goals made in a career and he is third in the nation in three-point field goals made this season with 63. Wallace is the ultimate compliment to Smith as he makes his mark on the interior for UNF. Wallace is second on the team in scoring (15.2), first in rebounding (5.1) and he leads the A-Sun in field goal percentage (.642), which is also good enough for 18th in the NCAA. Wallace has scored 20 points in five of the last six games, while Smith has accomplished the feat an A-Sun leading seven times on the year.

FGCU was predicted as the No. 13 seed in the East Region of the NCAA Tournament by ESPN.com’s Joe Lunardi in his Dec. 11th Bracketology. Lunardi has FGCU squaring off against No. 4 seed Gonzaga in San Jose, Calif. On Dec. 27, the Eagles were also predicted to represent the A-Sun in Jerry Palm of CBS Sports in his Bracketology. Palm has FGCU as the No. 15 seed in the East Region taking on No. 2 seed Cincinnati in Dayton, Ohio.

Out of the 13 Division I schools in the state of Florida, the Eagles (10-6) are tied with No. 13/9 Florida (10-2), Miami (10-3) and UCF (10-4) for the most victories in the state.
