DUNK CITY, Fla. – As part of FGCU’s Midnight Madness event – Dunk City After Dark Presented by Coconut Point Ford – Friday night at Alico Arena, fans will have the opportunity to contribute to two charitable SWFL organizations while getting their photo taken with the ESPY the Eagles won this past summer for “Best Upset of the Year.”

For a minimum donation of $5 for FGCU students with a valid ID and $10 for the general public, fans can have their picture taken with the trophy. All proceeds will be evenly split between the Harry Chapin Food Bank and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lee County.

The ESPY will be available in the southeast corridor of Alico Arena (mezzanine level nearest the baseball/soccer fields), beginning between games two and three of the FGCU volleyball team’s match with Lipscomb. The Eagles serve it up with the Bison beginning at 7 p.m. in advance of Dunk City After Dark, scheduled to begin at approximately 9 p.m. The ESPY will also be available during the half-hour transition of the court setup immediately following the completion of the volleyball game.

FGCU is one of just nine schools in the nation that will have ESPNU on campus to televise its Midnight Madness. Admission is free, but a large crowd is expected, and fans can ensure a seat by purchasing a discounted $3 volleyball ticket. For those unable to attend Friday, additional photo opportunities with the ESPY will be available during home men’s and women’s basketball games throughout the season.

For up-to-the-minute information and behind-the-scenes access to the men’s basketball program, follow @FGCU_MBB on Twitter and Instagram, and “Like” us on Facebook at /FGCUMBB.

2013-14 men’s basketball season tickets are selling quickly, and only a limited amount remain. New this year are mini-plan packages for all games, with the exception of “Breakfast at the Beach,” and individual-game tickets are now on sale. Fans can reserve their seat(s) by visiting the Alico Arena Ticket Office, calling 239-590-7145 or logging on to FGCUAthletics.com/Tickets.
