FGCU men's basketball signee DaJuan Graf represented the West team on Saturday, April 14, in the Jordan Brand Classic (JBC) regional game at Time Warner Cable Arena. A unanimous Atlantic Sun All-Freshmen team choice, FGCU men's basketball guard Bernard Thompson earned some more postseason accolades on Tuesday when he was named to the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Freshmen All-American team. Thompson was one of two A-Sun rookies to make the 25-member Mid-Major Freshmen All-American squad, as he was joined by USC Upstate's Ty Greene.

Despite trailing by as many as 16 early in the second half, the FGCU men's basketball team fought all the way back and had several chances to take the lead in the final seconds, but came up short in a 73-72 season-opening loss at TCU on Friday night at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum. FGCU trailed 71-69 with just under two minutes to play and the ball, but a trio of three-point attempts by junior Sherwood Brown and sophomore Christophe Varidel just missed and TCU retained possession with 49 seconds left.

Graf, a 6-foot point guard, is a rising senior at Phillip O. Berry Academy where he has led the Cardinals to a 51-11 record and a pair of North Carolina Section 2A Championships over the last two seasons.
