FORT MYERS, Fla. – Former Florida Gulf Coast University basketball standout, Roman Brown, spent the last week and a half in Long Beach, California competing against NBA veterans, rookies, and free agents in the NBA's Summer League. Brown was added as a free agent to Team Slam in the NBA’s Southern California Summer League.
Brown made four starts in four games and averaged around 22 minutes a game. He averaged 3.5 points, 1 steal, .75 blocks and pulled down a whopping 8 rebounds per game. Brown’s performance in front of NBA and international scouts along with the help of agent Ted Drakos, landed the 6’8 swingman a few offers to play professional basketball overseas. Despite this opportunity, Brown has decided to finish his Master’s Degree in Public Administration at this time.
Brown said, "Playing in the Summer Pro League better prepared me for the professional game. I learned all the things you need to know and gained all the tools necessary to make the next step in my career. I anticipate a lengthy professional career after the completion of my degree."
