Men's Basketball Signs Miller to Letter of Intent

FORT MYERS, Fla. - FGCU Head Coach Dave Balza has announced the signing of Hunter Miller, a 6-1 point guard from Christ Presbyterian Academy in Nashville, Tennessee.

Miller was a four year starter on the varsity basketball team at Christ Presbyterian. As a freshman, Miller broke the Tennessee state game scoring record for a freshman in a varsity game when he scored 44 points against conference rival Ezell Harding. As a sophomore, he led the state of Tennessee in three pointers with 102, also establishing the single season record for CPA. In his junior year he had his single game career-high when he scored 46 points. It was during his junior year that he led CPA to a 31-4 record and the school’s first trip to the TSSAA 2A state tournament. Miller scored 27 points in the Sectional game against Creekwood High to help his team advance. Hunter finished his career with 2092 points establishing a new CPA career scoring record and the only player in school history to eclipse the 2000 point mark. Hunter also established new career school records in assists (504), three-pointers made (236) and free-throws made (438). During his career at CPA Hunter averaged 16.4 points per game, shot 46.7 percent from the floor, and averaged 3.94 assists and 2.1 steals.

Hunter served as team captain for CPA as a sophomore, junior, and senior. He was named to the All-District and All-Region teams three consecutive years, during that time he was also voted the District MVP, as well as the District Tournament MVP. His senior year he was selected and competed in the Tennessee Athletic Coaches Association East / West All Star game.

Miller is the second signee of the FGCU Men’s Basketball team for the 2009-10 season, joining fellow incoming freshman Brett Williams.
