MACON, Ga. - The 2012-13 Atlantic Sun men's basketball season is almost ready to begin and to preview the start of the year, the A-Sun is taking a look at the top-20 returning scorers. Wednesday included FGCU senior Sherwood Brown who checks in at No. 6 on the list.

Brown had a breakout campaign under then first-year head coach Andy Enfield in 2011-12, finishing as one of two players in the A-Sun to rank in the top 10 in scoring (12.8/9th) and rebounding (5.9/9th). His 12.8 points and 5.9 rebounds were both team-highs, becoming the third player in program history to accomplish the feat. The Orlando, Fla. product reached double figures 20 times, highlighted by a team-high four 20-point games. He led the team in scoring 11 times, rebounding on 12 occasions and both in the same game seven times. Brown shot 48 percent (132-277) from the field and 37 percent (45-122) from downtown.
Entering his senior season, Brown has earned preseason honors from the A-Sun Conference, Lindy’s Sports and College Sports. Brown enters his final game campaign in the Green and Blue 333 points and 16 three-pointers shy of becoming the third FGCU player to score 1,000 points and make 100 trifectas.
