FORT MYERS, Fla. – Nearing the end of the non-conference schedules for the men’s and women’s basketball teams, Eagles Club members and fans will have an opportunity to attend and listen to the second FGCU Coaches Show of the year on Wednesday night as head men’s coach Joe Dooley and head women’s coach Karl Smesko will sit down with host Bill Banfield starting at 5:30 p.m.

The hour-long show can be heard for free on FGCUAthletics.com via Stretch Internet or by clicking here. Banfield will be joined by Smesko and sophomore Stephanie Haas (Avon Lake, Ohio/MagnificatHS) from 5:30-6. Dooley and lone senior Chase Fieler (Parkersburg, W. Va./Parkersburg South HS) will be on the air with Banfield for the final 30 minutes.

Members of the Eagles Club, the official organization which supports FGCU Athletics, and their guests can attend the show by calling Graham Diemer at 239-590-7107 or by emailing him at gdiemer@fgcu.edu. The show will be held in the Hospitality Suite on the second floor of Alico Arena.

Eagles Club members will get the chance to ask questions during the show. Fans can also submit questions for any of the coaches or players on Twitter (@FGCU_MBB and @FGCU_WBB) as well as Facebook (/FGCUMBB and /FGCUWBB).

The women erased a 16-point deficit to earn a 60-55 victory in their last game on Dec. 4 against 2013 NCAA Tournament participant USF. The Eagles are 5-3 on the year and next play at LSU on Tuesday, Dec. 17. Haas leads the team in scoring at 15 points per game, while connecting on 45 percent of her 3-point shots and adding 20 assists - second-most on the roster.

On the men’s side, Fieler leads the Green and Blue in scoring at 14.5 per game, and is second in rebounding at 5.8 per outing. The forward has started all eight contests on the year, and set the program’s Division-I single-game scoring record with 30 points and 13 made field goals against Hartford last month. FGCU is 4-4 on the campaign and returns to action following final exams this coming Saturday, Dec. 14, at 1 p.m. versus Samford in Alico Arena.
