Join FGCU Athletics in Support of FGCU Food Pantry and Harry Chapin Food Bank

FORT MYERS, Fla. – At home men’s and women’s basketball games during the 2013-14 season, FGCU Athletics will have boxes placed at the main entrance of Alico Arena to accept food donations from the public to go towards supporting the FGCU Food Pantry and the Harry Chapin Food Bank.

FGCU Athletics also encourages fans to support and participate in the Hunger Walk on January 18th. The mission of the Harry Chapin Food Bank of Southwest Florida is to overcome hunger in Charlotte, Collier, Glades, Hendry and Lee counties through education and by working in a cooperative effort with affiliated agencies in the procurement and distribution of food, equitably and without discrimination. The FGCU women’s basketball team hosts the FGCU Hilton Garden Inn/Homewood Suites Classic beginning today (Dec. 20) at 4:30 p.m. with Tulane and Virginia squaring off followed by FGCU taking on Saint Francis at 7 p.m. The Eagles will meet ACC foe Virginia tomorrow (Dec. 21) at 7 p.m.
