Director of Basketball Operations
Jamie Bartholomew is in his second season as the Graduate Assistant and Director of Basketball Operations of Florida Gulf Coast University Men’s Basketball.
In addition to day-to-day administrative responsibilities, Bartholomew assists players with academic responsibilities, arranges team travel and manages the student assistant staff.
Prior to joining the FGCU staff Bartholomew was an Assistant at Northwood University. During his time there the Seahawks won the Sun Conference for the third year in a row and were seeded as high as No. 4 in the country, advancing to the second round of the national tournament.
Bartholomew spent the 2007-08 season as assistant men’s basketball coach at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia where the Devils exceeded league expectations. He began coaching at USP while still finishing up his undergraduate studies.
Bartholomew also toured with the Harlem Globetrotters through South America, playing as a Washington General. He played in more than 20 different cities in five different countries, including Columbia, Brazil, Uruguay, Bolivia and Peru. Prior to playing with the Generals, Bartholomew played for the Delaware Destroyers, the 2008 National Professional Basketball League Champions.
Before Bartholomew began coaching at the college level he had the privilege of studying basketball with the help of many Philadelphia division I head coaches. He also worked many of the most successful summer camps in the country and coached in the legendary summer leagues of Philadelphia.
Bartholomew graduated with honors from Temple University where he earned a BA in business with a concentration in finance. Following his graduation, Jamie earned a Certification as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist from the NSCA. He is currently pursuing a top certification in nutrition and hopes to publish his work on econometrics as it develops.
