Men's Cross Country Wraps Up Season Finishing 7th at Atlantic Sun Conference Championships

MACON, Ga. – The Eagles concluded the 2008 season with a 7th place finish at the Atlantic Sun Conference Championships on Saturday.  Kyle Brunette led the way with a 26:08.89 (23rd), while Joshua Brooks took 41st with a time of 27:05.71.  Alex Stoermer came in 45th (28:02.67), while Richard Black was close behind in 47th (28:07.71).  Tyler Boban rounded out the scoring runners for FGCU with a 54th place finish at 28:55.80.  Brunette, Brooks, and Black wrapped up the season with their best runs; all three set new personal records.

Head coach Cassandra Goodson said "They were all very excited.  They all improved as the year went on and they are very proud of that.  I’m excited to see the improvements that the entire team made as the year went on."

East Tennessee State won the team competition placing 3 runners in the top 5.  Belmont took second, with Kennesaw State taking third.  Kenneth Rotich, a junior from East Tennessee State, won the individual title with a time of 24:34.71.
