Men's Cross Country Finishes 5th in Sodexho Hatter Cross Country Invitational

DELAND, Fla. - The FGCU men’s cross country squad placed 5th in the 2007 Sodexho Hatter Cross Country Invitational on Friday, October 12, 2007. 16 men’s teams participated in the event with UCF just getting by Xavier.
University of Central Florida finished first (39 points), Xavier was second (42 points), Nova Southeastern was third (86 points), FAU was fourth (153 points), and FGCU finished fifth (168 points).
Individually Xavier’s Ben Milroy was at the front of the pack at 25:48. Warner Southern College’s Wilbourne Kosgei finished second (26:10) and Florida College’s Jackson Wiley was third at 26:14.
Leading the way for the Eagles second straight week was freshman Ian McParland who finished in 27th place with a time of 28:07, behind McParland was sophomore Kyle Burnett who finished 29th with a time of 28:12. Following Burnett was freshman Noe Pena (28:27). Senior Mike Haney (28:58) was followed by sophomore Dustin Kapper (29:05) to round up the top five finishes for the Eagles.
The Eagles will be back on the course on October 27th for the Atlantic Sun Conference Championships in Nashville, Tennessee.
