Men's Cross Country 5th at Invitational

TITUSVILLE, Fla., - The FGCU Men’s Cross Country team finished 5th of 11 teams in the Invitational on Friday evening.

The Eagles finished with a team score of 134 as Florida International won with a score of 37, just two points ahead of Nova Southeastern. Miami and The Citadel finished third and fourth in the meet.

Three FGCU runners crossed at nearly the same time, with the first coming in 22nd with a time of 27:45.59. Alex Stoermer was the first Eagle to cross the finish line. Josh Brooks and Kyle Brunette finished right behind Stoermer with times of 27:46.05 and 27:50.00.

Tyler Boban and Richard Black rounded out the scoring for FGCU with times of 28:41.17 and 29:04.86.

The Eagles will be back in action again next Saturday when they compete in the Walt Disney World Classic in Orlando, Fla.
