FGCU men's golf freshman Edward Figueroa will get to stay in-state for his first NCAA Regional appearance, as he opens play in Tallahassee on Thursday at Golden Eagle Golf & Country Club.

Just hours after advancing through the local U.S. Open qualifier, FGCU freshman Edward Figueroa learned that his first collegiate season in the green and blue will continue as he heard his named called during the 2013 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Selection Show on NCAA.com.

The FGCU men's golf team will begin its quest for its first-ever Atlantic Sun Championship on Sunday when it begins play at the three-day conference championship at the Legends Course of Chateau Elan. The Eagles' best finish at the A-Sun Championship came in 2010 when they placed second.
