Men's Golf Places 5th at Final Fall Tournament

OCOEE, Fla.   – The Florida Gulf Coast University men’s golf team finished its fall season with a tie for fifth place at the Rollins Invitational at Forest Lake Golf Club in Ocoee, Fla.

The Eagles posted a three-round total of 874, just 17 shots behind tournament champion Rollins.
Rollins College shot three straight sub-par team rounds for a team total of 857 to win by 13 strokes over second place Florida Southern and Valdosta State, both at 870. Lynn University was fourth at 872.

FGCU junior Joey Lamielle (Sarasota Booker) was fourth individually with a total of 212 (73-71-68). Lamielle has placed in the top-20 in all four tournaments this fall.

Senior David Steele (Bonita Springs Estero) shot a 219 (72-71-76) to finish 19th overall and second individually for the Eagles. Freshman Hartley McLeod, competing in his first tournament of the fall, finished third on the team and tied for 42nd overall with a three-round total of 225 (74-76-75). Sophomore Alister Munro (Deventer, Holland) shot a 226 (75-71-80) to tie for 48th. Classmate Kyle Bilodeau (Manchester, CT) rounded out the Eagles scoring with a 229 (81-73-75) to tie for 61st.

Stephen Conrad of Nova Southeastern won the individual title with a score of 207(68-71-68).

The Eagles will open their spring schedule at the Armstrong Atlantic Invitational in February.
