FGCU Men's Golf 14th at Cougar Invitational

COLUMBUS, GA - The Florida Gulf Coast University men’s golf team traveled to Columbus, Georgia and played in the two day AFLAC Cougar Invitational. The Eagles finished 14th with a final team score of  907. The winning team was South Carolina−Aiken who posted a final total of 859 (+7).

As individual performers freshman Kyle Henderson (Clermont, Fla.) led the Eagles with a 223 final. Henderson followed his rounds of 72-73 on Monday with a 78 on the final day finishing in 34th place. Junior Kyle Bilodeau (Manchester, Conn.) finished with a 226 total and held the team round low with a 71 start on the first day, finishing tied for 43rd. Senior Drew Pierson (Lockport, Ill.) shot 78-73 on Monday then a 76 on Tuesday to finish tied for 50th with a 227. Sophomore David Blue (Edina, Minn.) shot a total of 233 to finish tied for 72nd place while freshman Ryan Coll (Ravenna, Ohio) made his first FGCU appearance with a 240 and 86th place finish.

FGCU will now prepare for the Tillinghast Fall Invitational on October 11-18 in Scarsdale, NY.
