Men's Golf Wins Third Tournament of the Year

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - At the 2007 North-South Intercollegiate hosted by Butler University, the FGCU men’s golf squad had three golfers finish in the top-ten and took the team title in the third tournament of the spring season.
The 36-hole event was played on the 6,484 yard Par 72 Jacksonville Beach Golf Club layout. The teams played 18 holes on Monday (Mar. 10) and a final 18 on Tuesday (Mar. 11).
The Eagles recorded a composite team score of 568, 15 strokes ahead of second place Jacksonville, during the tournament’s 36 holes.
Michael Hart was the Eagles' top finisher in the two-day event when he turned in a six-under 138. He shot a 67 in the second round of the tourney pull away from the field and take first place. Daniel Mazziotta came in second on FGCU's scorecard with a two-round total of 142 (-2) which placed him third individually. His best round of the event was a 66 on Tuesday.
Kyle Hammond finished tied-fourth place with a two round total of 143 (-1). Kyle Henderson and Robert Taylor rounded out FGCU's card with scores of 147 (+3) and 148 (+4), respectively. Henderson finished T-11th, while Taylor finished T-13th place.
The Eagles will be back in action on Mar. 17 at the First Market Bank Intercollegiate in Williamsburg, Va.
