First Ever A-Sun Championship Visit: Eagles Place Fifth
FORT MYERS, Fla. - The FGCU men’s Golf team completed their inaugural Atlantic Sun Championship tournament in fifth place with a three-round score of 882 (290-289-303).
Pacing the Eagles on day three was freshman Brandon Pena who turned in one of the lowest scores of the day with a 75 while Daniel Mazziotta, who shot a three over par (219) on the weekend, rounded out the tournament as the highest Eagle as he took eleventh place overall.
After a nail biting seven stroke finish, the Camels of Campbell University were crown as the 2009 A-Sun Champions posting a three-round mark of 867 (279-286-302).
Rounding out the top five places were UNF (874), Mercer (876), ETSU (881), and FGCU (882).
