Men's Golf Opens Play at Jim Colbert Intercollegiate

MANHATTAN, Kan. – The FGCU men’s golf team concluded round one at the Jim Colbert Intercollegiate Tournament on Monday afternoon. Originally scheduled to be a 54-hole tournament, the event has now been reduced to 36-holes due to a rain delayed start.

As a team, the Eagles are currently in eighth place with a score of 321 through the first round of play. Kansas State is currently on top of the leaderboard with an opening round score of 287.

FGCU Junior Josh Leppo (Naples, Fla.) is currently tied for 24th and is leading the Eagles with a score of 78 (39-39). Junior Daniel Mazziotta (Fort Myers, Fla.) is in 26th place with a score of 79 (43-36).

The final round of play will resume tomorrow with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
