FORT MYERS, Fla. – Incoming FGCU freshman Jack Hernandez (Fort Myers, Fla./Bishop Verot HS) successfully defended his title at the Nolan Henke-Patty Berg Junior Masters last weekend by shooting a three-round course record of seven-under 209 at Cypress Lake Country Club in Fort Myers.
Hernandez’s 66(-6)-74-69(-3)/209(-7) helped him finish with a comfortable nine-stroke win on the par-72, 7,033-yard course. Last year, Hernandez rallied from two strokes down in the final two holes to win the boys' 16-18 tournament.
Two weeks ago, Hernandez finished in eighth place at the Florida State Boys Junior Championship in Vero Beach.
