Men's golf wins third spring tournament

Port St. Lucie – The FGCU men’s golf team captured their third tournament championship of the spring by winning the Treasure Coast Classic in Port St. Lucie, FL.

The Eagles knocked off twelve Division I teams including Temple, Navy, Liberty, St. Louis, St. Johns, Delaware, and Creighton.

Joey Lamielle led the Eagles with a third place finish. Lamielle shot a one-over-par 73 on Thursday, and a two-under-par 70 on Friday.

Ryan Michals, who is coming off a tournament championship at the FGCU Spring Invitational shot a two-over-par 146 to tie for tenth place.

Jake Pasch finished fourteenth, while Adam Gary finished seventeenth, and David Steele finished twenty-sixth to round out the scores.

The Eagles will not waste anytime, as they will leave for Monterey, California tonight to compete in the Cal State Monterey Bay tournament Sunday through Tuesday.
