Men's Golf Moves up to 3rd in NCAA South Regional

FLORENCE, Ala., - The FGCU men's golf team shot a -1 to climb to third in the NCAA Division II South Regional on Tuesday. The Eagles are +12 for the event with one day remaining.

FGCU trails North Alabama (+4) and Barry (+9). The Eagles began the day 11 strokes behind North Alabama and trail by eight after the completion of round two. FGCU is paced by Steven Taylor who sits at one over in fifth place after firing a (-4) 68 which is the best mark at the South Regional. Michael Hart is +2 and in a tie for seventh. Robert Taylor is one stroke behind in a three way tie for 11th at three over par. Kyle Henderson is currently six over and tied for 20th after two days.

The winner of each regional will advance to the finals hosted by Grand Valley State. Four additional teams from the South/South Central Super Regional will advance to the finals. The finals will be held at The Meadows in Allendale, Mich., beginning on May 22 and wrapping up on May 25.
