WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - At the 2008 First Market Bank Intercollegiate hosted by William and Mary's at The River Course at Kingsmill Resort and Spa, the FGCU men's golf squad had two golfers finish in the top-15 and took fourth place.
The 36-hole event was played on the 6,809 yard Par 71 River Course at Kingsmill Resort and Spalayout. The teams played 18 holes on Monday (Mar. 17) and a final 18 on Tuesday (Mar. 18).
The Eagles recorded a composite team score of 586, threestrokes ahead of sixth place Richmond, during the tournament’s 36 holes.
Daniel Mazziotta was the Eagles' top finisher in the two-day event when he turned in a one-over 143 to finish in tied-fifth place. His best round came on Monday when he shot a 71.
Kyle Hammond came in second on FGCU’s scorecard with a two-round total of 145 (+3) which tied him for 15th place individually. His best round of the event was a 1-over 72 on Monday.
Michael Hart recorded a score of 149 after posting scores of 73 and 76 to place him T-35th. Both Kyle Henderson and Robert Taylor rounded out FGCU’s scorecard by recording 10-over 152’s, placing them T-54th.
The Eagles will be back in action on Mar. 31 at the Diet Pepsi Shocker Classic in Wichita, Kansas.
