FORT MYERS, Fla. – FGCU’s Men’s Golf team finished 7th over the weekend at the Jim Colbert Intercollegiate golf classic hosted by Kansas State University. The Eagles posted a three-round score of 940 after shooting a 308 in the final round of play on Sunday. Host, Kansas State University won the event with final score of 883 (294-299-290). UMKC placed second with a 900 (308-294-298) while Western Illinois University finished third with a 910 (310-312-288).
FGCU’s Michael Hart helped the Eagles to their best finish of the year thus far with a three-round score of 226 (78-72-76). He shot an even par (72) in the second round of play and finished the event tied for 11th place overall. The Eagle’s next competition will begin on October 3, 2008 when they travel to New York, New York for the Mission Inn Classic.
