FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Florida Gulf Coast University men’s golf team finished with a final score of 544 to take first place at the North South Intercollegiate held at the Jacksonville Beach Golf Club.
The Eagles picked up their second team title of the season with the win. They were 10 strokes better than runner-up Jacksonville. FGCU’s Kyle Hammond and Daniel Mazziotta both finished tied for third place with 36-hole totals of 134 (six under par) to lead the Eagles. Hammond shot 65-69, and Mazziotta shot 67-67.
Brandon Pena (137=66-71), Mike Hart (139=69-70) and Josh Leppo (151=77-74) rounded out FGCU’s scorecard.
The Eagles play in the Navy Spring Invite in Annapolis, Md., beginning on April 16.
