Men's Golf in Fifth After Day One

FORT MYERS, Fla. - The FGCU men’s golf team is currently in fifth place after the first round of the Atlantics Sun Championships concluded April 20th.

The Eagles shot a combined 290, only two over par for the day, which tied them with Jacksonville University for fifth place in the tournament. Only two strokes separate the Eagles from second place, a benchmark they will look to achieve tomorrow as round two begins.

Leading the Eagles was Daniel Mazziotta, who shot a 71 (-1) and is currently in eleventh place after day one.

Second-round action begins at 8:00 a.m. with Belmont’s Danny Amundson, FGCU’s Brandon Pena and Jacksonville’s Christian Martin teeing off on the first hole with Stetson’s Sam Ryder and Lipscomb’s Brandon Mundie beginning on the 10th hole. Fans can follow the action at GolfStat.com.
