Men's Golf Places First at FGCU Eagle Invitational

ESTERO, Fla. – The FGCU men’s golf team took first place at the FGCU Eagle Invitational Tournament at the West Bay Beach & Golf Club in Estero, Fla. on Tuesday afternoon. Senior Mike Hart was atop the leaderboard at the conclusion of the three round outing.

The Eagles fielded an A and B team to compete against Florida Atlantic, Bethune-Cookman, and Stetson at the two day event. The FGCU B team was the top scoring team with a three-round score of 876 (289-290-297). FGCU A ended the tournament in second place with a score of 881 (295-292-294).

As an individual, Hart (London, England) took first place out of 28 golfers with a tournament score of 211 (69-70-72). Juniors Daniel Mazziotta (Fort Myers, Fla.) and Zach Robinson (Pensacola, Fla.) tied for fourth overall with scores of 217 (75-73-69) and 217 (72-74-71) respectively.

The FGCU men’s golf team will tee up again on Sunday, October 18th as they head to Savannah, Ga. for the Mizuno Savannah Intercollegiate tournament.
