DELAND, Fla. – The Florida Gulf Coast University men’s golf team is atop the leaderboard, as day one concluded at the Stetson/CFSC Invitational in Deland, Fla. on Monday afternoon. All five Eagles are inside the top 20 on the individual leaderboard heading into Tuesday’s final round.
On the team scoreboard, the Eagles have submitted a combined score of 564 (283-281). Florida Atlantic and Stetson are currently in a tie for second place with scores of 583 (296-287) and (290-293) respectively.
FGCU Sophmore Pat Williams (Toronto, Ontario) is leading the way for the Eagles with a score of 140 (73-67), placing him in a tie for second place overall. Bethune-Cookman’s Willie Mack leads all individuals with a 138 (68-70).
Also inside the top 10 for FGCU, Sophomore Alex Medinis (Fort Myers, Fla.) submitted a 141 (71-70) putting him in fourth place and Junior Daniel Mazziotta (Fort Myers, Fla.) is in a tie for fifth place turning in a scorecard of 142 (74-68).
Scoring inside the top 20, Senior Mike Hart (London England) is tied for 10th overall with a 144 (68-74) and tied for 17th overall is Sophomore Brandon Pena (Clewiston, Fla.) with a score of 149 (71-78).
The Eagles will tee off the final round of their fall season on Tuesday morning at the Victoria Hills Golf Club.
